Business electricity
Compare electricity costs for your business
A lower usage rate does not always mean a lower bill. Use your business electricity bill to compare estimated annual usage and supply costs, including GST, where supported plans are available.
Check my billHow to compare business electricity rates
Start with the same annual usage for every plan. Compare the usage price in cents per kWh and the daily supply charge together, using the same GST basis. A low usage rate can be outweighed by a higher daily charge, particularly at a smaller site.
For a flat-rate plan, estimated annual usage and supply cost is annual kWh × price per kWh + 365 × daily supply charge. Convert cents to dollars before adding the amounts. This is a starting point; it excludes other charges and credits.
The lowest usage rate can cost more
Same 10,000 kWh annual usage. Different supply charges.
Plan A
30c/kWh + $1/day
$3,365estimated per yearPlan B
28c/kWh + $2/day
$3,530estimated per yearFictional rates including GST. Usage and supply only; other charges and credits excluded. These are not available offers.
What makes a plan suitable for your business?
Match the postcode, distributor, meter and tariff on your bill. Check payment conditions, any benefit end date and whether rates can change. A café with evening trading and a daytime office may have very different usage patterns.
For time-of-use or demand tariffs, ask for a full assessment using the relevant usage profile and demand data. Solar exports, controlled loads, seasonal use and one-off fees can also change the total. Our automated shortlist is not a complete quote for those sites.
What will the bill check show?
Upload a supported business bill and review the extracted details. Where comparable offers are available, we show up to five plans from our retailer panel, ordered by estimated annual usage and supply cost including GST. You can compare up to three side by side and choose a plan to discuss.
We compare a panel, not the whole market. If we find no cheaper supported plan, we say so. Selecting a plan does not change your retailer. Prices, eligibility and full contract terms still need confirmation.

Business electricity questions
Is there one cheapest plan for every small business?
No. Usage, supply charges, network eligibility and tariff structure affect the result. Compare annual costs for your own site rather than choosing a headline rate.
Can I compare without requesting a callback?
Yes. No contact details are needed to view your comparison. Requesting an enquiry is optional, and savings are not guaranteed.
Can every business switch providers?
