Compare business electricity plans in Victoria
Victorian businesses should compare electricity offers for their own network and operating pattern. We use your bill to check eligible published plans from our panel, then show estimated annual usage and supply costs where a comparison is possible.

Your electricity distributor may be AusNet, CitiPower, Jemena, Powercor or United Energy. The network operates local poles and wires. Your retailer sells the electricity plan and sends the bill. Confirm both when comparing offers.
A Melbourne business and a regional Victorian business can have different network charges and available offers. We need a matching network before estimating a saving.
What is the Victorian Default Offer?
The Victorian Default Offer, or VDO, is a standing electricity offer set by the Essential Services Commission for eligible customers. It provides a reference option. It does not mean every business will pay the same annual amount or that it is always the cheapest offer.
The Victorian Government defines a small electricity customer as using no more than 40 MWh a year. Larger sites may need a different contract review. Check your annual usage and eligibility with the retailer.
When your trading hours change the comparison
A shop trading in the day and a restaurant trading late can have different time-of-use costs. Demand charges may also matter. Keep the detailed tariff pages of your bill and avoid choosing on the lowest advertised cents/kWh alone.
Our automated estimates include usage and supply, with GST. Conditional discounts, solar credits and one-off fees are excluded. Complex tariff or demand pricing needs a separate check before switching.
Compare the available numbers, then decide
You can review up to five available plans and compare up to three side by side. Requesting a callback records your selected plan for review. It does not change your retailer.
Victorian Energy Compare is the government’s free comparison website for households and small businesses. It is separate from our commercial service and is another way to review electricity and gas offers.
