Privacy Policy

Check Your Energy Bill (checkyourenergybill.com.au) is operated by Smark Design (ABN 71 923 145 151), an Australian business. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the site, why we collect it, and who we share it with.

• Your energy bill. When you upload a bill, the file is sent to LlamaIndex’s LlamaExtract service to extract usage and rate data. We do not save the bill file on our servers. We request deletion of uploaded files and extraction jobs after processing, including when processing fails.
• Details you enter. Postcode and business type (to check available rates), and — if you request a callback or ask to be notified of a better deal — your name, email, phone number, business name, and preferred callback time.
• Extracted bill data. Figures read from your bill (e.g. usage, current rate, current supplier) that you choose to submit along with a callback request.

To compare your current rate against real market offers for your postcode, and — only if you opt in — to have an energy expert contact you about switching, or to email you if a better deal becomes available later.

• Notion — we use Notion as our secure database to record leads and callback requests.
• Ortto — if you request a callback, your contact details are also added to Ortto, our contact management tool, so our team can follow up.
• LlamaIndex — processes your uploaded bill to extract data through LlamaExtract. Provider-side processing and retention are governed by LlamaIndex’s data retention policy. Deletion requests may fail or take time; we do not promise that the provider never temporarily stores your document.

We do not sell your information, and we do not share it with anyone else.

We retain lead and callback details for as long as reasonably needed to provide the service and follow up with you, or until you ask us to delete it.
