Compare business electricity plans in South Australia
South Australian businesses can compare electricity offers using their own usage, tariff and network details. We check eligible published plans from our data panel and show estimated annual usage and supply costs where comparable offers are available.

Check my business billSA Power Networks and your retailer have different roles
SA Power Networks operates the electricity distribution network for much of South Australia. Your retailer sells the plan and sends the bill. Confirm the network on your bill, particularly if your premises are in an embedded network or use a private supply arrangement.
A published retail offer still needs checks for your postcode, meter, business and tariff. An Adelaide price example does not establish eligibility or an annual cost for every South Australian site.
Compare annual costs, not only cents per kWh
For a supported flat-rate plan, the estimate combines annual usage multiplied by the usage rate with 365 days of supply charges. A lower usage rate can be offset by a higher daily supply charge, especially at a low-usage premises.
We use the same usage basis across the shortlist and include GST. The comparison excludes conditional discounts, solar credits and one-off fees. Your bill’s total may also include overdue balances or other items that are not part of the usage and supply estimate.
Time of use, demand and solar need closer attention
- Check the actual peak and off-peak periods in the retailer’s plan, rather than assuming all retailers use the same times.
- Keep demand-charge details available. Total kWh alone cannot describe the cost of a site’s demand profile.
- Review solar export rates separately because solar credits are excluded from our automated estimate.
- Use a representative year where possible. Cooling loads, seasonal trade and changes in opening hours can affect annual costs.
Understand the offer before accepting a switch
South Australia has standard and market retail contracts. Compare the full conditions, payment arrangements, discount expiry dates and any fees. A reference-price percentage is not the same as a saving against your own bill.
Where matching plans are available, you can review up to five options and compare up to three side by side. Selecting one records which plan you want to discuss. The team still needs to confirm full pricing and eligibility before any switch.
What if no cheaper plan is found?
The website says when no saving is found in the comparable offers available to us. It does not carry forward an earlier saving or claim your current plan is the cheapest in the whole market. If matching data is unavailable, we explain that separately.
Energy Made Easy is an independent government comparison option for South Australian small businesses. You can also ask your existing retailer to review your contract. Our free bill check is a commercial service with a limited data panel.
