Compare business electricity plans in Queensland

Queensland business electricity options depend on your network and site. We check eligible published plans from our data panel using your bill, then compare estimated annual usage and supply costs where matching offers are available.

South-east Queensland and regional sites need different checks

Energex operates the distribution network in south-east Queensland. Ergon Energy Network serves much of regional Queensland. The distributor runs the local network; the retailer sends your bill and offers your energy contract. Confirm the distributor printed on your bill rather than assuming it from a nearby city.

South-east Queensland has a competitive retail market. Regional retail competition is more limited, with Ergon Energy Retail supplying most regional customers at regulated prices. Other offers depend on a retailer serving the site. An Energex plan must not be used to estimate a saving for an Ergon site.

What does our Queensland bill check compare?

We match the postcode, electricity network and supported tariff with eligible published business plans. Where comparable offers are available, we show up to five options ordered by estimated annual cost. You can compare up to three side by side and choose a plan to discuss.

We cannot promise a retail shortlist for every regional postcode, meter or business. If there is no verified matching offer, the website explains that a comparison is unavailable. That does not mean your current contract is necessarily the best available.

Check the charges that matter to your business

  • Usage rate and daily supply charge, with GST treated consistently.
  • Peak, shoulder and off-peak periods, controlled loads and any demand charges.
  • Seasonal trading and whether the latest billing period reflects a normal year.
  • Discount conditions, solar credits, fees and the full contract terms.

Is a reference-price discount the same as my saving?

No. A percentage against a reference price compares an advertised offer with a standard usage benchmark. It is not a saving calculated from your own business bill. The Default Market Offer is relevant to south-east Queensland; regional regulated pricing uses different arrangements.

Our estimate uses the usage and supply details extracted from your bill. It includes GST and excludes conditional discounts, solar credits and one-off fees. Time-of-use patterns, demand charges and other complex pricing need a fuller review before you accept an offer.

What should I have ready?

Upload the detailed usage and charges pages of a recent electricity bill. Check the postcode and network after extraction. Keep the NMI, meter details and any contract end date available for the team’s eligibility review.

Energy Made Easy is the Australian Government’s separate comparison service for small businesses in Queensland. Our commercial service uses a data panel, not the whole market. Checking a bill or requesting a callback does not switch your retailer.
